Victorian side view - edited 1Calgary Costume Designer, Rhonda Perry has been sewing since she was 13 years old and has a passion for creativity, and a love for History.

What began as sewing Hallow E’en costumes for her children, grew into more than just a hobby when in 2010 she began to design for Theatre, leading to Film and individual Client work.

In 2011 & 2012 Rhonda’s design and sewing abilities were recognized by receiving the award for  “Outstanding Costume Design” for Front Row Centre Players adaptation of Brigadoon (May 2011), and Rocky Horror Show (September 2012). She would continue on to receive numerous CAT award nominations for Storybook Theatre’s Little Women (2012), Cappuccino Theatre’s The Drowsy Chaperone (May 2013), Morpheus Theatre’s Boeing Boeing (2014), and FRC’s Little Shop of Horrors (2017).

In addition to theatre productions, Rhonda also designed the costumes for the film short, Pendragon, with Fabulous Corporation and assisted with costume production in the movie Drawing Home, filmed in Banff, Morley, and Calgary, Alberta.

Rhonda’s portfolio and experience includes over 15 productions, extensive individual client work, and an inventory and/ or creation of costumes over the 1000’s.

Rhonda enjoys each aspect of her costume design career from the excitement of on-set filming, the buzz of tech week at the theatre and throughout the run, and the personal connection felt with each individual client and their experiences through the process from design to creation of each vision.

She feels it is truly an honour to be a part of a wonderful team whether it be a large production, or one on one with a client.
